Tavin

“Tavin” is the home for enthusiasts of Jewish and Torah history.
Tavin's goal is to uncover the hidden treasures of the past and revive figures of bygone generations, through study and research aimed at uncovering the “story behind the book”, that which is concealed between the pages and in the inscriptions on the leaves and title pages of the books.
Reading a Tavin catalogue is akin to a magical journey through the ages, visiting the many Jewish communities of the Diaspora, crossing continents and eras. Through the items, one can touch upon famous or forgotten historical episodes, and connect with great and fascinating personalities.
For this purpose, we employ a team of experts with broad knowledge, through whose abilities a name or a sentence written on a book’s title page can be transformed into a stirring and enlightening historical narrative. The team is headed by the renowned researcher and historian, Rabbi Dr. Moshe Kravetz of Beit Shemesh, who studied most of the auctioned items.
