AUSTRIA AUCTION COMPANY
📍Vienna
📞+43 1 512 13 95
The Austria Auction Company was founded in 2013 when my son Martin and I decided to venture into the auction business. My career began at Adil Besim, the rug shop in Vienna that my father Fritz Langauer ran with Ferdi Besim. By the time I came on board in 1985, the company had several locations and had become the market leader in Austria.During the 15 years that I worked at Adil Besim and thanks to several longer trips to the United States and England, I was able to lay the foundation for what I now know about antique rugs. From 1991 to 1994, I served as managing director of our subsidiary Oritop, a rug wholesale business in Zurich. After I returned to Vienna, I became a managing partner at Adil Besim. In 2000, my father and I left Adil Besim after the Besim and Langauer families mutually agreed to part ways.My father took over Oritop, relocated the company to Vienna, and is now successful in the wholesale business.I decided to use my expertise to focus on the international trade of high-quality, antique Oriental rugs.By participating in countless trade fairs in Europe and the United States, my network and reputation grew as people became familiar with me.My son Martin, who has developed an affinity for antique rugs just as I did in my younger years, joined my business in 2013 and has been acquiring his expertise about antique rugs from a very early age. Thanks to his training as an IT officer, he supports the entire administration involved with putting together the auctions – starting with photographing the rugs and editing the photos to laying out and designing the catalogue.

Lehner Kunstauktionen
📍Wien
📞43 1 5854623 90
Lehner Kunstauktionen specializes in Modern and Contemporary Art from both national and international origins. The satisfaction of our clients is at the center of our work. Our goal is to achieve the best possible results for both consignors and buyers. To ensure this, we intentionally limit ourselves to a select number of auctions each year, featuring a carefully curated offering. This approach allows us to identify the right buyers for each individual work and to dedicate the necessary attention to pieces that may not always receive the appreciation they deserve elsewhere. Our philosophy is grounded in respect and enthusiasm for art – not in the arrogance sometimes found in the art market. The joy of art and of building collections is what drives us and what inspired the founding of our house. We hold at least three auctions per year and only offer works that meet our quality standards and resonate with our clientele. This makes our auctions appealing to both consignors and buyers. The auctioneer and managing director is Dr. Frederik Lehner, the second generation of his family active in the art trade. By operating both an auction house and an art gallery, we are able to offer consignors flexible and strategically tailored sales options.

You might be wondering: Why should I buy from Vienna-Bids online auctions, of all places?Well, that's a fair question – and I’m happy to explain why: Vienna-Bids stands for the high standards I have for our little works of art. First, I personally select the gemstones, pearls, and materials at the world’s biggest jewelry fairs. I carefully inspect the quality during purchase – and I’m extremely picky. Only the best makes it onto my shopping list.Second, I design many of the pieces myself. I combine unique gemstones and pearls with precious metals. That’s how the unmistakable Schmuckzicke style is created. Color and brilliance are key. Schmuckzicke is known for extraordinary colored gemstones and pearls. And finally, as a certified gemologist, I can expertly assess quality. Because I handle the sourcing myself, even the most unusual wishes are no problem. All of this combined is what makes Schmuckzicke truly special.
